A real product, checked in public: Testimoni is named in 2 of 24 AI answers (8%)

Testimoni is a testimonial tool that a small team runs. We used it as a real test case for AI search visibility: ask the assistants the questions a buyer would type, count how often the product is named, change what we can, and re-check. This page is the running record, updated each time we re-check.

The result so far (16 October 2026)

We asked 8 buyer questions, without the product name, to each of ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. That is 24 answers in total. Testimoni was named in 2 of them, which is 8%.

Both mentions came from Perplexity (2 of its 8 answers). ChatGPT and Gemini named it in none of theirs.

  • Named: “testimonial widget for solo founders on a budget”.
  • Named: “tool to turn tweets into testimonials for my website”.
  • Not named: collecting and organising reviews, best tools to display testimonials, an easy wall of love, embedding testimonials without screenshots, and collecting LinkedIn praise automatically.

How to read it

This is one run of 24 answers. AI answers vary between runs, so the true rate could be higher or lower, and a move of an answer or two is noise. We will only call a change real if it is bigger than that normal swing.

The two answers that did name Testimoni were the ones close to what it is specifically good at: turning existing public praise, such as a tweet, into a testimonial. The broad “best tools” questions did not.

What we are changing

We follow the same fix order the free check gives any site:

  • Be found: make sure AI crawlers can read every public page.
  • Be clear: say in plain words, near the top of the homepage, what the product is, who it is for and how it differs from the better-known tools.
  • Be mentioned: get listed honestly where testimonial tools are compared, and disclose when the author is the maker.

What we will not claim

We will not say a change caused a result. We will list what changed between two checks and what the numbers did, and say plainly when the two may be unrelated.

Progress log

Each re-check is added to the log at the bottom of this page with its date, the engines used and what changed in between.

Frequently asked questions

Is Testimoni part of Citeably?

No. They are separate products. Citeably did the checking, and Testimoni is the test case. The people involved overlap, which is why we say so here.

How do you ask the questions?

The same fixed list each time, without the product name, on each assistant, in a logged-out session. You can do the same by hand or with the free check at citeably.app.
