1What Citeably is
Citeably measures how AI engines answer buyer-style questions about your brand, shows who they recommend instead, and suggests what to improve. You use it through our website at citeably.app (the “Service”).
By creating an account, running a check, or using the Service in any other way, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a contract.
- Give us accurate details and keep your password and sign-in methods safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. If you use Citeably for a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
- Tell us promptly at hello@citeably.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3Acceptable use
Citeably sends the questions you track to third-party AI providers using our accounts. To keep that safe and fair, you agree not to:
- submit prompts or details that are illegal, harmful, hateful, or sexual, or that try to manipulate the AI (we filter these and may reject them);
- include personal data, passwords, or confidential information in prompts;
- work around plan limits, rate limits, or other protections, or use bots to hammer the free check;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its raw data;
- use the Service to harass, deceive, or harm a person or business.
Don't try to game the product by naming your own brand in prompts. It would only distort your score.
4Plans, trials and billing
There's a Free plan and paid plans (currently Starter and Growth), billed monthly or yearly as shown on our pricing page. Payments are processed by Razorpay, and we never see your full card details.
- Free trial. If a trial is offered, you authorise a payment method now and your first charge happens when the trial ends. You can cancel before then and won't be charged.
- Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled, at the price shown when you subscribed (we'll tell you in advance before any price change).
- Changing plans. You can switch between plans from the billing page. Changes normally take effect at the end of your current billing period, and we show the date before you confirm.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails we (and Razorpay) will retry. If it keeps failing, paid features may be paused and your account can return to the Free plan.
- Taxes. Prices may not include taxes where they apply.
5Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time from the billing page. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, and won't be charged again. Cancelling during a free trial ends the trial immediately.
We don't generally refund partial periods. If you were charged by mistake, or something clearly went wrong on our side, email us within 14 days and we'll put it right.
6How results work, and what they don't promise
Scores, rankings, and suggestions are estimates based on the answers AI engines gave to the questions we asked at that moment. AI answers vary between runs, locations, and users, and engines change often. On paid plans we ask each question several times and average the results to steady the number, but it can still move.
- Results come from AI providers' programming interfaces, which can differ from their consumer apps.
- Some engine answers may come from the model's own knowledge instead of live web search. We label this in your report when we know.
- We can't promise that following a suggestion will change whether or how any engine mentions you. We don't control the engines.
Use Citeably as one input to your decisions, not as a guarantee.
7Your data and content
You keep ownership of what you enter (brand details, competitors, prompts). You give us permission to use it to run the Service for you: to send prompts to AI providers, store results, and email you reports.
Free-check reports are unlisted but visible to anyone who has the link. Don't share a link you'd rather keep private. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8Our work
Citeably's software, design, text, and branding belong to us. You may use your reports for your own business and share them (for example, a score card), but you may not copy or resell the Service itself. “ChatGPT”, “Claude”, “Gemini”, “Perplexity” and other names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe what we measure.
9Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties, including AI providers, Razorpay (payments), Google (if you sign in with Google), an email provider, and our hosting and database providers. Their own terms apply to their services, and outages or changes on their side can affect Citeably.
10Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Citeably running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features and limits. If we make a change that meaningfully affects what you've paid for, we'll give notice by email or in the app. We may update these terms too; continuing to use the Service after the notice date means you accept the update.
11Suspension and ending
You can stop using the Service and delete your brands whenever you like. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, puts the Service or other people at risk, or doesn't pay, and we'll explain why when we can. After an account ends, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable time unless we must keep it by law.
12Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profit or lost business), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer where those can't be waived.
