Source and citation tracking
Citation tracking lists the sites and the exact pages AI engines cited while answering your buyer questions, and separately the ones cited in answers that left you out. Those gap pages are the best outreach targets, because an engine already trusts them.
Last updated .
What you see
- Sources cited most often, by site.
- Under each site, the exact pages cited and how many times.
- Gap sources: cited in answers where you were not named.
What to do with it
Open the cited articles, find who writes or maintains them, and offer a specific reason to include you, such as data, a free tier or a unique feature. Self-service listings such as review sites are a profile to complete.
Questions
Do all engines return sources?
No. Engines with live search return the pages they used. Engines answering from their own knowledge return none, so the source list reflects the engines that search.
